Merry Christmas

This Christmas was amazing. I feel like every Christmas is amazing. This year Christmas eve was with my family. It started with Dustin and I going over early to help my grandparents cook and clean. Then the family came over and we had prime rib for dinner (so delicious!). Then we waited for my dad to get here. In my dad’s 20 or so years working for Delta Airlines he has never had an entire Christmas eve and/or Christmas day off. He will miss Christmas eve and be home for Christmas day till about 2:00 and just different things like that. This year he got off at 7:30 on Christmas eve and had ALL Christmas day off. It was so much fun! Anyways, once my dad got there we did white elephant gifts.

In Dustin’s hand is a singed 8x10 photo of my dad under the Christmas tree with antlers on his head… Yeah that pretty much sums up the white elephant gifts.

 

Then we opened pj’s from grandma and grandpa. First we all opened a small gift from them, we all got different varieties of the “evil eye” which is a symbol that Turkish people wear it’s an eye ball, it’s like a good luck charm. They got those for us from Turkey when they went on the cruise with my parents this year. Then we opened our pj’s. All the boys got the same ones:

and all the girls got the same ones, Well the pants have a little variety but pretty much the same:

We are a happy family, yes my pants are rolled 4 times and I am aware that I am the shorter than my 11 year old cousin.

Dustin and I slept over at my parents house that night. We slept in Sam’s room. We brought our air mattress so that neither of us had to sleep on the floor. Dustin accidently put a tiny hole in it, I woke up in the night to the sound of ssssssss and the sight of Dustin’s feet in the air and butt on the floor. So I asked him if he would like to join me on Sam’s twin bed. There we are 2 grown people in a twin bed that we were just praying could hold 300 lbs. Needless to say the sleeping was minimal that night and not because of anticipation for Santa coming. FINALLY around 7:30 I, a 23 year old woman, had to wake my 12 and 7 year old siblings to see if Santa had come? I don’t know, it baffles me as well. We say a family prayer and head down. Before we make our way down we see Gabby jumping so high she pretty much got her head stuck in the ceiling because she got a phone, and Sam saying Oh.My.Gosh. over and over because he got 2 star wars lego sets. While Annie playing it cool as if she didn’t see the amazing Yankees coat she got because the attention frightens her. It was pretty cool!

   

Once all the Santa presents were looked over, we each opened our stockings. Sam was first, at the very bottom there was a note that said “HO HO HO”

 

Gabby was next in the bottom of her sock it said “Don’t Forget”

Then Annie went, this is her reading that she got a ticket to her first concert, Brad Paisley, The Band Perry, and Scotty McCreary. At the bottom of her sock it said “to look”

 

Then Dustin and I went, while excitedly thanking Santa for Jazz tickets and a Brad paisley ticket for me as well, Boo Ya!, our note said “in the basement, love Santa”

After that it was a dead sprint! We ran down to a new TV, blue ray for my family and for us!, and a bean bag. Everyone was screaming and excited. In the words of our brother whose name is Sam, “Santa did great this year!”
