I am currently sitting here watching my most embarrassing guilty pleasure. The Bachelorette. I hate that I watch it, I love that I watch it, and I am obsessed. It gets me through Monday’s. I am ashamed and feel foolish but I can’t help it.
Moving on…The last 2 weekends we have played in softball tournaments. One we played in Kaysville with our friends the best way I can describe it is with this:
You better believe it We are the Champions!! It was so much fun. It was blazing hot we played from 7 am to 7 pm and I couldn’t walk for the entire week because I was so sore. Totally worth it. (From left to right starting at the top: Dustin, Paul Pedler, Mike Cordova, Tyson Christensen, Parker Jenkins, Nicole Goeckeritz, April Bland, Me, M’liss Peterson, Carli Chambers.)
The next day was Sunday, we were speaking in sacrament meeting. Dustin is on call for my uncles mortuary, usually he is just on call from 6 pm to 6 am but he traded someone and was on call all day Sunday, you probably get where I am going with this, yeah he got a call at 12:30!! We have church at 1:00, so my stress levels were a little elevated. Then before sacrament meeting I had to meet with the 2nd counselor to get a calling, assistant camp director, so again my stress levels are now increasing. I am sitting there by myself no signs of Dustin. 5 mins. before the meeting starts and the counselor comes up and says I’m so sorry but you are actually THE camp director (I am totally overwhelmed and scared to death), now stress levels are reaching the max capacity. So getting my composure I gave my talk, still no Dustin I am thinking to myself I am going to have to hold a Q and A session the last 15 mins. of the meeting. I was wrapping it up and said “Well I hope he gets here, amen.” The door opens and there he is! I wanted to run up the isle and hug him because so much stress was gone! He knows how to make an entrance. Prayers get answered!
This weekend we went to St. George and played a tournament with April Bland’s work team. This tournament didn’t go as well as the last one, that is all I am going to say about that. It wasn’t a complete failure though we managed to knock out the entire last season of Friday Night Lights. Best. Show. Ever. If you have never seen it I am serious when I say that it is the best show on the earth, you will love it. I am crushed it is over and even more crushed that Tim Riggins isn’t real.
I am buying this hat.
