It has been a while since I have posted about our house. We have been busy with things around here making it feel more like home.
Here are some pictures of some updates I have done…
This is spare bedroom #1 Before (the only before picture I have)
Here is After. We got the bed from a friend’s friend for $100.00, I found the bed spread at Walmart. Still a work in progress but better than the Before!
This is the sunroom Before…(Yes I am totally aware that the Before’s are lame)
Here is the sunroom After. My parents actually gave us that love seat last night, I love it in here it makes it feel more like a functioning room.
I was too lazy to get the laptop out of the picture.
And there is “Zoey’s red chair” she loves to nap there, and everywhere else really, she definitely leaves her mark on this chair though. I am sorry I know it is gross!
This is a shelf thing we have in our TV room about our TV. I found the decorations at Tai Pan, Hobby Lobby and garage sales.
Here is a view of the whole wall Before
Here is After. I found the stencil at Hobby Lobby and some metallic paint that I thought would bring some life to the wall, I love it. It adds just what I wanted. One day we are going to hang the T.V. ….. One day.
My grandma gave me this old lamp that I refinished.
Before
After. One of my favorite things in this room, it is so cute when it is lit up at night on my redone yellow side table!
But I do have to say my FAVORITE thing in this room is this chair. I know what you are thinking “Wow if that is your favorite thing I can’t wait to see the worst thing.” Just wait!
My mom, my grandma and I, well pretty much just I and then I forced the others, decided to try and reupholster this chair. (After I had called 5 places to get an estimate on the cost to cover this beauty, cheapest being $500.00 not including fabric.)
Before
Dustin and I took it apart. 300 staples, a sliced thumb and a sore back later we had a naked wing back chair instead of an ugly one.
During
Then on Wednesday my mom, grandma and I got to work. I did a lot of studying of other blogs that had done this before, drew pictures and took pictures to try and make this scary task a little easier. We started at about 12:30, with a short lunch break at about 3:30 and finished at 6:15. Here are the results!
After
One of my prouder moments in life!
We did it all by ourselves, only $40.00! Eat that upholstering places!
I took pictures of the process and remember how I did it but it would take forever to explain, if you want me to I will but not tonight, that is for sure.
The perfect combo for the results, 1. a person who studied 2. a person to help pull and hold fabric 3. a person who knew how to sew for the cushion 4. an electric staple gun (MUST NEED!) and 5. an entire day away from work
My grandma made these pillows for me, with pillows I already had and fabric we found. They look so awesome! They bring so much color to the room. I still have 2 pillows that I am going to find a light blue fabric and a linen fabric for.
Here is a few views of the entire TV room. Still a couple more finishing touches but SO close to being done.
Hi Zoers!
Totally need something for that big bare wall!
Next: Master bedroom and Kitchen accessories!……Eventually (when it rains it pours: $1100.00 in car repairs, $3600.00 in tuition, $$$$.$$ for mortgage payment all in 1 week, enough said.)
Go Cougs!
